Detailed information on Elwood - Cyclamen, Eucalyptus, & Ocean Breeze

Medium - 250gm - 50hr Burn TimeLarge - 500gm - 100hr Burn Time

Elwood:

The Yalukit Wilum, one of the five Boon Wurrung clans, were the original residents and traditional owners of the territory now occupied by the City of Port Phillip. In the swampy areas between St Kilda and Fishermans Bend.

In the mid-1860s, Elwood was developed on marshy terrain, with a few homes on the higher ground south of Point Ormond. With the building of the Elwood Canal, the region became a potential residential site design centred on two significant physical features: Elster Creek and the Point Ormond. In the early 1900s, the region was a working-class area, but it has since undergone waves of gentrification to become one of Melbourne\'s most coveted bayside areas. Large period houses, many of which originate from the 1920s and 1930s and have art deco characteristics, as well as closeness to the beach and shoreline, which bring in lovely woods scents on the ocean breezes, have made the location desirable.

Although the projected railway line was not built until 1906, it did help to keep land values stable for a time.

Oak, Grapefruit, & Sea Spray:

Like a cruise around the Mediterranean and take in fresh lemon and ocean breeze, combined with lavender, cyclamen & driftwood.

Melbourne Candle Co. is a small candle manufacturer of soy wax candles, each named after a street or icon of one of our great cities, each with a history on the side of the tin and how the fragrance relates to the past, and a reproduction map depicting the named area from the 1920s on the front of the label.
